Phd Thesis. Research was designed to (1) develop a method to determine the limiting nutrient in a lotic ecosystem; resulted in production of the Matlock Periphytometer, (2) measure limiting nutrient in three watersheds in a basin; Peacheater, Tyner, and Battle Creeks, and (3) determine periphytic trophic status of lotic ecosystems in specific watersheds within a basin. Discussion of the research, with recommendations for further work are included.

MS Thesis. Used the Vollenweider method to stochastically model phosphorus loading to Lake Tenkiller and the consequent impact on its eutrophication state. Results of this model suggested that the effluent from the Fayetteville wastewater treatment plant into Mud Creek would not result in large scale degradation. Report maintained that most phosphorus is from nonpoint sources.

PhD Thesis. TABLE OF CONTENTS ONLY. Used bank pins and cross-sectional surveys, as well as aerial photographs, to measure short-term and long-term, respectively, IR bank erosion. Evaluated impact of riparian vegetation and compared results to Rosgen's work in the western US. Unsuccessfully attempted to estimate contribution of bank erosion to sedimentation of Lake Tenkiller.

DRAFT. "A systematic approach to addressing pollution proglems in the basin." Report is focused on a holistic view of problems, presents potential solutions as the pertain to the entire Illinois River Basin. Plan is designed to correlate with OSRC's plan for the corridor and Arkansas' plan for their portion of the basin. Includes review section of previous Illinois River Basin work.
