Phd Thesis. Research was designed to (1) develop a method to determine the limiting nutrient in a lotic ecosystem; resulted in production of the Matlock Periphytometer, (2) measure limiting nutrient in three watersheds in a basin; Peacheater, Tyner, and Battle Creeks, and (3) determine periphytic trophic status of lotic ecosystems in specific watersheds within a basin. Discussion of the research, with recommendations for further work are included.

MS Thesis. Used the Vollenweider method to stochastically model phosphorus loading to Lake Tenkiller and the consequent impact on its eutrophication state. Results of this model suggested that the effluent from the Fayetteville wastewater treatment plant into Mud Creek would not result in large scale degradation. Report maintained that most phosphorus is from nonpoint sources.
