CSREES Integrated Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program: This Request for Applications is for integrated research-extension projects that combine organic farming and water quality. Here is an excerpt. Note deadline is July 24th.
The purpose of the IOWP is to explore the changes in water quality and/or water quantity associated with certified organic farming practices.
Applications are being solicited for the Integrated Organic and Water Quality Program under the following areas:
(1) The impact of organic cropping systems on water quality and/or quantity.
(2) The impact of organic animal production systems on water quality and/or quantity.
(3) The impact of mixed use (crop and animal production systems) on water quality and/or quantity.
Integrated research, education, and extension projects (up to $220,000 per year) are solicited for this program. Projects may be one (1) to three (3) years in duration.
